I have rounded up the top five college student planners and reviewed them all to help you find the perfect planner for yourself.

Quick little confession I have to make: I’m planner-obsessed.

My planner pretty much never leaves my sight. When I was in college, I had my planner with me basically every second of the day and I was always using it.

I credit my planner obsession with keeping me extremely organized during college. I kept track of  everything  in my planner during college, whether it was academics, activities, internships, or general life.

A planner is one of the best organizational tools you can have during college.

Below you will find my detailed reviews of the best planners for college students, along with the best planner accessories and my tried-and-true tips for getting the most out of your planner in college.

1. Lilly Pulitzer Agenda

The Lilly Pulitzer Agenda is the planner I used throughout the last year of high school, all of college, and now into my post-grad years!

Yep, I have been using this planner for over six years now and I love it!

Since I have personally used this planner for years, I can confidently recommend it as what I would consider to be the best planner for college.

My Thoughts

This is my number one pick for the best planner for college students.

One thing to note, the Lilly Pulitzer agenda comes in three sizes: Jumbo, Large, and Medium. I always get the Large (dimensions listed above) and have found it to be the perfect size to slip into my purse or backpack. It’s also their best-selling size. The Jumbo seems a little too big and the Medium seems too small.

Another thing I love about this planner is the design. It might sound crazy, but the seeing the classic, colorful, beachy Lilly Pulitzer designs throughout the pages of my planner just makes me feel happy and energized.

The layout of this planner is very straightforward and easy to use. I stayed soooo organized in college thanks to this planner and I think it’s the perfect choice for all college students. Not to mention it’s just super cute!

This planner is extremely popular and one of Erin Condren’s best-selling planners. It’s specifically designed with college students in mind.

While I did not personally use this planner in college, I know some of my fellow organization-obsessed friends had it and they really liked it. Erin Condren planner fans REALLY love their planners and they have a big fan base.

Overall, this is a great college student planner.

One thing I really love about this planner is that you have the option to personalize it with your name embossed on the front for no added cost.

This planner also has SO many cover options to choose from so you’re not limited with the design (and you can even use your own cover at no added cost.)

You can choose between spiral-bound and soft-bound. I personally recommend spiral-bound. You can choose the color of the spirals for an added cost.

Oh, and one last thing – STICKERS! You get a whole big page of stickers to add to your planner pages, which is a biggie for me.

4. Day Designer for Blue Sky Academic Planner

The Day Designer for Blue Sky Academic Planner is a great option for college students who want a planner oriented around “designing” their days.

The weekly pages in this planner have a section for writing your schedule and to-do list each day, along with writing your top three goals for the week.

Day Designer is a really popular planner brand, and they have collaborated with Blue Sky to create this affordable planner specifically for students.

Here’s some details to know about this planner:

• Dimensions: 8.5″ x 11″ (Large Size)
• 12-month agenda
• Monthly and weekly pages
• Dedicated goal-setting and planning pages
• Holiday calendar
• Additional note pages

This is a really nice college student planner that isn’t too pricy.

While the regular Day Designer planners cost around $60, these Day Designer for Blue Sky academic planners cost about a third of that! It’s a good budget-friendly option, but you are still getting a high-quality planner.

This is another planner with different size options. You can go smaller than the 8.5″ x 11″ dimensions listed above if you want a more pocket-sized planner.

5. Student Happy Planner

If you love all things colorful and stickers, then the Student Happy Planner is for you. This is a customizable planner that is almost like a scrapbook.

Happy Planner sells extension packs so if you wanted to add more pages to your academic planner (such as budgeting pages) then you can do that.

Happy Planner fans rant and rave about these planners, which include specific planners for life, budgeting, fitness, meal planning, etc. This particular planner is designed specifically with students in mind.

Here’s the low-down on this planner:

• Dimensions: 7″ x 9 1/4″
• 12-month agenda 
• Detailed pages for course details
• Overview pages for each month with notes
• Inspirational quotes throughout

This is a great choice if you really want to customize your planner.

Happy Planner sells all kinds of accessories like extension packs with extra pages you can add to your planner. For example, if you wanted to add budgeting pages to your academic planner, you could do that.

They also have a crazy amount of planner stickers you can add on.

6. Bloom Academic Planner

The final planner I recommend for college students is the Bloom Academic Planner. This is a simple and cute academic planner.

Here are the details on what’s included with this planner:

If you’re looking for an affordable planner that comes with a ton of extra pages, the Bloom Academic Planner is really the perfect option.

I love all the additional “life planning” pages that come with this planner, including pages for goal setting, creating a vision board, habit tracking, purposes and values, spending tracker, and more.

Plus all the free stickers are a great bonus! I love me some planner stickers.

College Student Planner Accessories

Some people like to go all out with accessories for their planner.

I kept it pretty simple. I wrote everything in pencil (so I could easily erase and change things) and I used a ton of stickers, but that’s about it.

However, some people like to use a color-coding system with colored pens and sticky notes, or they go all out with stickers and washi tape in their planner. Whatever helps you stay organized, go for it!

How to Get the Most Out of Your Planner

Here are some of my top tips to help you get the most out of your planner!

At the end of the first week of classes once you have your schedule finalized, take some time to sit down with the syllabi from all your classes. Go through and write down every date from the syllabus in your planner – dates for tests, quizzes, projects, extra credit, and the final exam.

In the note pages of your planner, write down the course information (course name and number, class days and times, professor name and contact info, TA name and contact info, time and location for office hours.)

Do this for every class you’re taking. I promise this makes a huge difference and you’ll never be surprised by a deadline you were unprepared for.

At the beginning of every semester, you should also take the time to write down important dates for personal things. If you’re in a sorority or any other type of club or extracurricular activity, get the dates for meetings and events.

Weekly/Daily

On Sunday night, I always take a look at the weekly page ahead in my planner and review what’s there already to get an idea of my schedule. I also go ahead and write down anything else I know I have for the week. This only takes a few minutes and helps me get prepared for the upcoming week.

On a daily basis, I will add things to my to-do list as they come.

My favorite thing to do is cross off something after I’ve accomplished it or after the event has passed. Nothing is more satisfying than the feeling of physically crossing something off in my planner!

If we want our kids to be organized in school, it is essential that they have a system in place for keeping track of assignments, upcoming tests, and quizzes as well as anything with a deadline. Using the right student planner makes this process simple- and helps your child to juggle their school work and social life without feeling overwhelmed. These are the 10 best planners for students for the 2023-2024 school year!

The first thing to take into consideration when purchasing a student planner- is the grade level of student who will be using it. Some planners are designed specifically with elementary school-aged kids in mind, while others are more appropriate for middle school, high school, or college students.

For elementary schoolers, you want a simple planner that gives them a defined place to record assignments for each main subject area.

But when we are shopping for students in middle or high school, or in college, there are three main types of planners that I recommend:

• Dated planners – The monthly and weekly page layouts are already labeled- and in some planners, you'll find prompts or titled sections to get you to think and reflect on your goals for the coming year.
• Undated planners – You can pick up one of these planners any time and just get started because all of the monthly and weekly sections are undated. There are still places to write reflections and goals, but they are more open-ended and often appear at the beginning or the end of the planner.
• Bullet Journals – These are completely unstructured notebooks that allow you to design how you would like to track notes and assignments and organize and plan for the future. Often a bullet journal is just a blank notebook with dotted grids, or sometimes they are lined.

Applying to College Early Decision? 6 Tips for the FAFSA Delay

The delayed release of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) could make it more difficult for “early decision” applicants to accurately gauge the cost of their college education.

Early decision is a binding process, usually with a November application deadline and a December admissions decision. Students may apply to only one college via early decision, and if accepted, they typically must attend or risk having to sit out of school for a year. An early decision application can boost a student’s odds of getting into their dream school, but it also means they lose the chance to compare and negotiate financial aid offers from multiple schools.

Because the 2024-25 FAFSA will be simplified — and the release delayed from Oct. 1, 2023, until sometime in December — many colleges won’t be able to provide accurate financial aid estimates or final packages alongside early decision admissions, says Connie Livingston, head of college counselors with admissions counseling group Empowerly and a former admissions counselor at Brown University.

“In years prior, you knew what your package was when you knew your decision,” Livingston explains. “Now you're getting an estimate, which is better than nothing, but it's not a guarantee.”

If you’re thinking about applying early decision this fall, here are six tips to help you navigate the FAFSA overhaul and your college financial aid prospects.

1. Apply to CSS Profile schools

About 250 universities use the more detailed CSS Profile alongside the FAFSA to calculate institutional aid, like scholarships and grants. The 2024-25 CSS Profile opened on Oct. 1. At CSS Profile schools, prospective early decision applicants may have better luck getting an accurate financial aid estimate before they decide to apply, says Shannon Vasconcelos, senior director of college finance for Bright Horizons College Coach, an admissions and financial aid counseling company.

However, students who apply early to FAFSA-only schools likely won’t have a reliable financial aid estimate before applying, Vasconcelos says.

The vast majority of institutions that use the CSS Profile are private, although a handful of public schools like the University of Virginia and the University of Michigan also use it.

2. Estimate your financial aid

In past years, colleges’ online net price calculators have been the best way to estimate how much your education could cost at an institution — but with a lack of clarity around the new FAFSA, many of these calculators have not yet been updated, Vasconcelos says. Early decision applications should use other calculators.

The Education Department recently released a new Federal Student Aid Estimator to help students gauge their eligibility for aid like federal student loans and the need-based Pell Grant for the 2024-25 school year. The College Board’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) calculator can estimate the aid you may get through the CSS Profile.

If your family has an income below a certain threshold — check the income cap with the early decision school to which you’re applying — it’s more likely that you’ll get enough aid to attend. Most early decision schools meet 100% of demonstrated financial need, but they don’t offer merit aid, Livingston says.

3. Read the fine print

Students have the option to back out of early decision agreements if they can’t afford to attend. Carefully read the agreement at your school of choice before applying.

“I think that we're going to see more families take advantage of that fine print this year and pull out of that early decision agreement, because they didn't understand what they were getting into financially, or they did not have an accurate estimate of financial aid eligibility upfront,” Vasconcelos says.

Backing out from an early decision acceptance is a process. For example, at Columbia University in New York, families must consult with a financial aid officer and explain their circumstances before a student can be released from an early decision agreement. The timing can also be risky: When students finally get their delayed financial aid packages for the 2024-25 school year, application deadlines at other schools may have passed.

Make sure to print out and save any financial aid estimates you’ve received from schools, Vasconcelos advises. These records can come in handy if you need to request more aid or get out of your binding admissions agreement.

4. Request your FSA ID now

Each person — including the student and parents — who fills out the 2024-25 FAFSA will need a unique FSA ID. It can take up to three days to receive an FSA ID after you request it.

Request your FSA ID ahead of time so you’ll be ready to fill out the FAFSA right away upon its December release and get your financial aid package as fast as possible.

Everyone should fill out the FAFSA, regardless of whether or not they think they’ll qualify for aid, says Livingston. Many colleges use the application to help determine eligibility for scholarships and merit aid in addition to need-based aid.

5. Consider early action or regular decision

Roughly 87% of U.S. undergraduates received financial aid in 2020-21, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. For these students, applying early action (which is nonbinding) or regular decision may be a safer bet than early decision.

If you get multiple admissions offers, you can compare financial packages and costs of each school, and even try to negotiate your aid offers.

“When you apply early action or regular decision, then you're not making a commitment,” says Vasconcelos. “You can go back to schools and say, ‘Thanks for this nice $5,000 scholarship but this other school gave me $10,000; is there anything else you can do?’ and some schools are amenable to that.”

That type of negotiation is off the table if you apply early decision, Vasconcelos says, but you might still be able to appeal for more aid after an early decision acceptance if your financial situation changes.

6. Reach out to financial aid offices

If you need more help understanding how the FAFSA simplification and delay could affect your plans to apply early decision, reach out to the financial aid offices at your target schools.

“They are expecting a lot of questions, and maybe some confusion, so they're ready to help students and families through this process,” says Livingston.

The National Home Education Research Institute – an Oregon-based organization focused on researching and sharing homeschool data – estimates that 5.56% of students were homeschooled in 2021-2022. The institute notes that the data is challenging to collect, as homeschool parents may not reliably respond to surveys.

Flexible arrangements associated with homeschooling might also mean that students are still connected to their school districts for certain classes, or attending microschools or other programs some of the time.

Applying to college with a nontraditional high school degree can come with unique challenges. But with planning and communication with their adult educators, students from nontraditional academic backgrounds can boost their chances of gaining admission to college .

What Colleges Look For

Mark Moffitt, executive director of admission at Otterbein University in Ohio, says admissions officers look for academic achievement, personal experience and fit for the institution as they review applications.

“We feel that the students’ academic record is going to give us the best understanding of success in our classrooms,” he says. “Whether they’re homeschooled or at their local high school , we’re looking at the types of classes they’re taking, the experiences that they’re taking away from those classes, their overall grades. … We’re also looking at their progression through those classes.”

Programs that allow students to receive high school and college credit at the same time are a common way for students from nontraditional high schools to demonstrate college readiness. Moffitt says Otterbein sees some homeschool students applying with a year of college credit under their belts.

“That’s really giving us a great understanding of what they’re taking away in their homeschool courses and what kinds of success that they’re having in the college classroom,” he says.

Many nontraditional students enroll in alternative programs because of other commitments, according to Phylicia Littleton, a college and career counseling expert at Connections Academy , a tuition-free, accredited, online K-12 public school.

“We have some students that are running their own businesses," she says. "We have students that are CEOs.

Student athletes and families that move or travel a lot are also frequent participants in these programs, she says. “The learning platform that we have for students provides them the flexibility to exercise those skills now.”

It's important for applicants to talk about these experiences in a way that will break through the review process, Littleton says, particularly because admissions professionals are increasingly incorporating artificial intelligence into application reviews. Recent research published in Intelligent.com, a website for students focused on college admissions and planning, indicates that about 80% of higher education institutions anticipate using AI in admissions by 2024.

“They’re looking for certain keywords when they’re reviewing college applications, when they’re reviewing transcripts and they’re reviewing personal essays of students,” she says.

Highlighting unique skills and experiences including soft skills like time management , experience using online learning platforms and initiating discussions with teachers can help nontraditional students stand out.

More Tips for College Applicants from Nontraditional Educational Backgrounds

Many university admissions websites have resources for nontraditional applicants, notes Jill Haskins, a teacher at Streams of Hope Christian Academy, a microschool in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the Indiana field coordinator of the National Microschooling Center.

“If you get on their admissions sites, a lot of them have homeschool requirements now,” she says.

Although many schools, including Otterbein, changed their admissions requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic to eliminate standardized testing requirements, Haskins says these tests can be an important metric to show that students from nontraditional schools are prepared for college-level work.

Haskins also notes the value of college credit plus programs—including the money they can save families— and has supported several dually enrolled students. Micah Gilliom, one of her former students and a sophomore at Huntington University in Indiana, says he was able to double major thanks to his college credit plus experience.

“I probably wouldn’t be able to dual major if I didn’t bring in some credits beforehand,” he says.

Moffitt recommends that college applicants use the admissions essay to “allow admission teams to gain an understanding of who they are, and where they wanna be.” Admission teams consider candidates holistically, looking also at coursework, extracurricular activities and other experiences, he says, adding that some homeschool students have provided detailed portfolios of their work while others have shown more traditional transcripts.

As long as the results are clear, many colleges are open to seeing academic achievements in a variety of formats.

Carefully documenting academic records is crucial, particularly if the program is unaccredited. Although Haskins generally follows the Indiana core curriculum with her students, some universities have wanted more information than a high school transcript in order to understand what students are learning.

In one case, Haskins recalls, “It took a little bit more legwork for me on the back end of things just to make sure I had course descriptions.” She even provided ISBN numbers of the books she had assigned. “I wanted to prove and show them without a doubt that we provided a rigorous curriculum that prepared them for college.”

How to Find the Right College When You’re in a Nontraditional High School

Littleton says high school students learning in nontraditional environments should use all available tools to organize and plan their next steps. Connections Academy offers resources to help students develop resumes, create four-year learning and graduations plans, and track their progress.

Gilliom suggests taking advantage of the flexibility many nontraditional schools offer, noting he used portions of his school day to work on scholarship applications.

This flexibility can support another step that Moffitt recommends: visiting colleges and talking to faculty and students. Campus visits help applicants “gain an understanding of the institutions that they’re interested in and the opportunities that they’re going to have,” he says.

In turn, experts say, this helps prospective college students make the decision that’s right for them, no matter where they went to high school.

With a degree in Radiology Technology, you’ll be able to use medical scanning tools ranging from MRIs to angiography to look inside the body. The job outlook for Radiology Techs is very strong. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics , the 2022 median pay was $67,180 a year. There were 264,100 jobs available in 2022, with a projected 10-year growth rate of 6%, which is higher than average. For more specialist concentrations within the field, like MRI technology, the median annual salary was $80,090.

How Long Does It Take to Become an X-Ray Tech?

Most graduates receive Associate’s degrees, which typically take around two years to complete full-time. However, there are multiple avenues towards the career. Some schools offer Bachelor’s programs or even Certificates. It’s important to note that Associate’s degrees often end up taking as long as Bachelor’s programs because students are expected to have certain general education requirements under their belts before beginning this specialized field of study. Once students graduate, the vast majority of them sit for—and pass—professional certification exams. They can then work.

20 Best X-Ray Tech/Radiology Tech Schools

As with all rankings, this list is not exhaustive. It contains a mix of Associate’s and BS programs, but note that many of the former require college-level courses to be completed before enrollment. Programs are selective and students usually have to apply once they have already been admitted at the college. Although some other rankings online suggest the University of Alaska Southeast, this school only has a Certificate program, so our list also mentions the University of Alaska Anchorage’s AAS (which Certificate students can transfer to). The name of the major also varies from school to school, but the curriculum content is commensurate.

1) University of Iowa

At the University of Iowa, students can select the Radiologic Technology track as part of the larger Radiation Sciences major. Within Radiologic Technology, students can apply for five competitive programs. They are Radiologic Technology (general focus), Radiologic Technology and Breast Imaging, Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography, Radiologic Technology and Cardiovascular Interventional, and Radiologic Technology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Because the major is offered jointly with Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine, students can do clinical internships in their specialty areas. Graduates can take national certification exams. The job placement rate is 100%.

2) Indian Capital Technology Center (ICTC)

Students at ICTC’s two-year Radiologic Technology program have packed schedules. In their first year, they take 10 classes ranging from Patient Care for Radiographers to Film-Screen Acquisition and Processing. In their second year, they take 8 courses that build on knowledge from the first year. The degree highlights applied learning, and students can become members of organizations like Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). After graduating, they can take the exam to qualify as certified radiologic technologists.

3) University of Mississippi

Ole Miss students earn B.S. degrees in Radiologic Sciences , where they learn how to operate imaging technology as well as provide radiation therapy. They complete the first few years of classes in the Allied Health Studies program, then apply to move into Radiologic Sciences, which is selective. They receive personalized academic and career advising and firsthand medical experience.

A two-year Associate’s of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology lets students take professional certification exams and practice soon after graduation. From 2018-2022, 97% of graduates passed the certification exam on their first try, and 100% got jobs. Students gain real-world experience at seven different clinical sites in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

5) Foothill College

Foothill College in Silicon Valley offers a two-year Associate’s of Science in Radiologic Technology . The program has been around since 1961, so students have a strong alumni network. Students gain entrance through a lottery and must take prerequisites before entering. Once they’re in, they work with up to 15 different medical institutions in the region. Between 2018 and 2022, 99% of graduates passed the professional certification exam on the first try, and 100% were placed in jobs.

6) Ogeechee Technical College

Radiologic Technology graduates from Ogeechee Tech leave with Associate’s of Applied Science degrees, with the option of Computed Tomography Specialist Certificates. Students need to complete 9 prerequisites before being eligible and the program brings in 12 new students each spring. They achieve not just clinical aptitude, but also communication and critical thinking skills. 96.4% of graduates pass the certifying exam on their first attempt.

7) Santa Barbara City College

With this two-year Associate’s of Science in Radiology Technology, students leave well-prepared to take on the workforce. From 2018-2022, 87.2% of graduates passed the certification exam on their first try and 97.4% were placed in jobs. They take a diverse array of courses and have designated academic counselors. The beautiful Santa Barbara setting means that students can also spend off time at the beach.

Note: As of the 2024 cycle, the Radiology Technology major is not open for admissions until the waitlist is exhausted (right now, that’s 2026). The website is the best source for updated information.

8) Lakeshore Technical College

In-person classes at LTC are supplemented by online class options for Nicolet College and Gateway Technical College students, making this degree more accessible. Students are taught a mix of technical and customer service skills, and can apply for financial aid. With a 96% first-time pass rate on the professional certification exam and a 100% job placement rate, they can feel confident about their prospects.

9) Mitchell Technical College

A two-year Associate’s of Applied Science program, Radiologic Technology at Mitchell Tech blends classroom learning with hands-on application in the lab and clinic. There are two semesters of classes, followed by three semesters of clinical rotations. Various scholarships are available and well-advertised on the website. All of the instructors are women, and the job placement rate is 100%.

10) University of Alaska Southeast/University of Alaska Anchorage

The one-year certificate program in Pre-Radiologic Technology at the University of Alaska Southeast provides students with a strong basis to go on to an AAS in Radiologic Technology at the University of Alaska Anchorage’s School of Allied Health. While other schools ask for general education prerequisites, the University of Alaska system bundles up the specific ones needed for Radiologic Technology into one program. Students can also learn online and go in-person for clinics.

11)  Pasadena City College

Radiologic Technology Associate’s degree students at Pasadena City College can take advantage of the institution’s 10 clinical partnerships in the LA area. The program asks for prerequisites and is selective. Between 2017 and 2021, graduates had a 96% pass rate on the professional certification exam and a 100% job placement rate. The college hosts information sessions for prospective applicants to learn about the program.

12) Mt. San Antonio College

The system to enroll in Mt. SAC’s Radiologic Technology degree is a little different than at other schools. Students don’t need to wait until they complete prerequisites to apply. Instead, once they submit an application for general admission, they can place themselves on the program waitlist. While they wait to get off, they fulfill the necessary core classes. Mt. SAC offers many course options, as well as affiliated hospitals where students can build medical experience.

13) Marion Technical College

This Associate’s degree combines technical and science classes with ones in communication. There are a total of 27 courses that students need to complete by graduation. Subsequently, they appear for the professional certifying exam. Since the college offers an array of healthcare programs, students can socialize with and learn from others who may be their future colleagues.

14) Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis

Students have a few different options when it comes to pursuing a degree at IUPUI. First, they can do an Associate’s of Science in Radiography , which also offers them the opportunity to conduct research and study abroad. Across two years, they spend an impressive 1,300 hours caring for patients. 98% of AS graduates passed the professional certifying exam from 2018-2022, and 100% received jobs. Second, they can do a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Technology , and choose between MRI, CT, IR/CC, Mammo, DMS (Ultrasound), and Non-Clinical tracks. Finally, the Radiologic Sciences department offers an undergraduate major in Nuclear Medicine Technology , in which technologists trace the movement of radiopharmaceuticals through the body to investigate health issues.

15) Virginia Commonwealth University

VCU offers a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Radiation Sciences . Students concentrate in diagnostic medical sonography, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, or radiography. They avail of extensive lab facilities and get work experience at a range of clinics. The major is part of the College of Health Sciences, one of the largest health centers in the country.

16) Randolph Community College

This Associate’s of Applied Science degree in Radiography is taught by professors at the Shackleford Jr. Allied Health Center. Admission is selective, and there are information sessions through the semester for prospective students to learn more Financial aid is available. From 2018-2022, 94.5% of graduates passed the certifying exam on their first attempt, and 100% of students got jobs. After graduation, students can keep studying to receive specialized certificates in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology.

17) City College of San Francisco

The Radiological Sciences department here has its own acronym: CCSF RADSCI. Its (rather long) expanded form is: Compassionate patient care, Continued pursuit of learning, Sensitivity to the learning needs of our students, Fair and equitable treatment for all, Respect for all, Accountability and ethical behavior, Diversity consciousness, Service to the community and the advancement of the Radiologic Technology Profession, Commitment to excellence in the Radiologic Technology Profession, and Integrity of the educational process. Definitely a word soup, but its mission-driven approach translates to quality lab infrastructure and clinical opportunities for Diagnostic Medical Imaging AS students. From 2016-2020, 99.2% of students passed the certifying exam on the first try, and 96% of students got jobs.

18) St. Philip’s College

With the AAS in Radiography Technology , students don’t have to pick a concentration, but instead get rotational experience across different medical imaging techniques. 92.4% of students between 2018 and 2022 passed the professional certification exam on their first attempt, and 96.6% found jobs.

19) Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing

Students at this healthcare-focused institution can pursue an AS in Radiologic Technology and BS in Imaging Sciences at the same time. Once they finish the AS, they are eligible to take the certifying exam and can then finish the BA largely online, giving them flexibility to both work and study. In addition, students can pursue certificates in CT, MRI, and Mammography. The AS degree had a 90% exam pass rate and a 100% job placement rate from 2018-2022. Students can also minor in Spanish, allowing them to build language skills to communicate effectively with a wider swathe of patients.

 20) North Dakota State University

Radiologic Sciences majors here follow a unique structure. The first two years, they take a series of intensive courses. The next two years, they pursue a two-year, full-time internship in specialized areas like radiography, diagnostic medical sonography, or echocardiography. This rigorous combination of classes and medical experience leaves students ready to take on workplace challenges.
